This is the first Sarah Eden book I have read, and I know it won't be the last. I was completely sucked in by the characters, read the whole thing in a day. Adorable and charming.

Weirdly a bit more Christian than I like my regency romances buuuut, I didn't hate it. It wasn't like preachy, it was much more a lens for the attitudes on suicide in regency England, which was honestly fascinating. That, and the subtle discussion on how much people misunderstood (and still do misunderstand) post-partum depression was interesting. I read this one less for the story, and more for the research and commentary. I learned a lot from this one! Impressed.
(Why is the cover art so ugly, don't ask me.)

This wholesome tale has plenty of spunk, humor, romance, and tugs at your heartstrings with sensitive explorations of complex grief and love after loss.
Content: Sensitively addresses the tragedy of suicide, which was punishable during the Victorian period in England.

This book made my heart go pitter-pat. My one complaint is that it ended too quickly.

I love a good, cheesy, clean romance but this was too much. I found Marion SO annoying. And the whole premise of how she became a governess was ridiculous to me. I did enjoy the side plot between Layton and his brothers though.
