I was so excited to get Zane and Liam’s story from this series and I was not disappointed to read about Liam’s tragic dating history, his insecurities, and his stubbornness.
Zane was everything I hoped he would be. A giant teddy bear, full of humor and good intentions.
Even with the insistence to be just friends, they both struggled with the desire for one another from their first meeting on. Their relationship spans a commitment to overcome each other’s fears and a desire to be more.
I highly recommend this to anyone who loves ridiculous pet names, steamy moments, plenty of cuddling, hot first kisses, & an HEA. This book nailed so many of my high points, it was an amazing read.

This is a brilliant slow burn, low angst romance that is a really fun read!
Zane is now retired from football due to injury and has recently come out as bisexual. He's had a thing for his teammates ex for several years but would never act upon it whilst they were together. Things are different now though. Liam is now looking for a sensible boyfriend after a run of bad luck with partners, especially staying in the closet for his football player ex. Both men are attracted when they first meet at a team party but more is now possible with them both being single and out. Except for Taryn, Liam's ex and Zane's teammate, who is dead against the possibility knowing how Zane has been in the past with hookups, Liam's determination not to date another footballer, along with his fears of being left behind and possibly having to go back into the closet. Zane knows who he wants and he's willing to wait and be patient, taking the time to build up a friendship with Liam and get to know each other more before moving forward to a relationship, hopefully.
This story was a lot of fun to read! There's a lot of banter back and forth and they dance around each other for the first half of the book. Their chemistry is off the charts but it's just a waiting game for the head to agree with the heart in what it wants. Zane's use of pet names is also one of my favourite things throughout the story.
Along with the MC's, there's a good cast of characters. I haven't actually read book one in the series but will definitely be going back to find it out with how much I enjoyed reading this one. Definitely a recommended read.

It dragged on a bit unnecessarily, but it was still miles better than the first one.
This wonderful story just really clicked with me. The writing and character development are so well done and the romance between Zane and Liam flows along at the perfect pace. I read this in one sitting because I was so invested in the outcome.
These two main characters are so much fun and easy to like. There’s so many ridiculous pet names from Zane and dead pan/witty banter between him and Liam. Theirs is a slow burn romance but once the spark flames the heat levels skyrocket. A couple of issues need to be dealt with by both parties but they do get their HEA.
If you’re after a well crafted book, with no angst, sweet tender moments, laugh out loud moments and goofy pet names, then I highly recommend this book.

This is the Saxon James I know and love!! This is definitely my favourite of the books in the series and I was positive I would like it more just because of Cooper and how fun he is.
Cooper is the absolute best, a bubbly character that jokes all the time and makes the other characters laugh, especially Liam, the heartbroken too many time, has trust issues when it comes to relationships characters that falls for Cooper just like the rest of us! These two make a great couple and their banter is just fantastic. The pet names?? So good!! I couldn't stop laughing! I think my favourite was pumpkin breath

THIS. BOOK. I feel like normally in a series - or duo in this case - people prefer the first book because they get attached to the first couple and generally prefer them over other couples in the series. But I actually think I might prefer this book over Bet On Me , despite how much I loved Taryn & Elliot's story.
This one was just a lot sweeter, it had a lot of beautiful moments, and I loved seeing Cooper finally getting the chance to explore his sexuality, and Liam finally knowing what it's like to be with someone who treasures him the way he deserves.
