A non-fiction book about octopuses made me cry. Listening to the author read the book and hearing the crack in her voice broke me. I read this as a companion book to Remarkably Bright Creatures which I read first. I will always visit the aquarium’s octopuses differently after reading this. Excellent.

This is my second book about octopi of the year (Remarkably Bright Creatures being the first), and y'all, this is just such a fascinating creature. I loved how this explored the behavior and the relationships and the lifespan and just all the unique beauty that an octopus had. I learned so much and was just captivated.
