Can't express how much I loved reading this book, it's like a pat to the soul. Hard to articulate all my thoughts and feelings in one review and I would also end up quoting almost the whole book in the process which is an indication about how good it is and how delicate and revealing it discussed the human nature and its interaction with the different things in life. It's an ode to us I guess. A sweet one.

I honestly think I began writing poetry myself because of this book. Because Rilke's tone is urgent yet comforting and spurred me into action. He's talking about poetry, yes, but a lot of the letters apply to art in general. If you must create, then you must. There's no way to not pour yourself out into whatever your art is. If you make art at all--even just for yourself or for fun--I think this is worth the read.

Absolute snoozefest. I'm sorry but it's how I feel! I found quite literally nothing of value here, although I hope others can at least get something out of this.
