A unique story and interesting characters. I felt this book was Lena’s redemption arc and I found myself understanding her a bit more. The jealousy between her and Sara should be explored more as otherwise it’s just two successful women hating each other for no reason…
The hepatitis storyline was weak and didn’t add anything for me and a few of the fringe characters from the farm/church obfuscated the storyline.
The ongoing issue of challenges with the books being incredibly old fashioned in attitudes to gender roles but that’s to be expected given the time of publishing, if not a little jarring when they do pop up.

The character development is so satisfying. The plot of this one was slower than the others but the end was worth it. Sad the next one is last in the series.

A bit longer than it was neccessary to tell the story and I kinda already had a sense on who's pulling all the strings at the farm. However, overall the last part got me so hooked into the book. Also I love how Lena keeps evolving and brings in a very interesting sub-plot to the overall story. I am rooting for her and hope for her best in the next and last book of the Grand County series.

This one won’t be a stand out - I will forget it honestly in a matter of days. But it was entertaining while I listened to it.
