3.25! Still really good, but my least favorite out of the series so far. The end was brutal and made me so excited for the last book. Sad that the Grant County series is coming to a close for me though.

This book was more tame than other KS books I’ve read. Good build up, suspense. I didn’t really like any of the characters introduced like Lev, or Paul. I also didn’t really like aunt Bella or Sara’s mom. It felt sort of make believe in a way, but it became evident who the culprit was towards the last 1/3 of the book. I did enjoy the read, quick and easy. It wasn’t too heavy.

Not enough Sara in this instalment for me. Still enjoyable. One of my fave police procedural series.

I really hate any Karin Slaughter book with Lena Adams in it.  But if you can get past Lena, it's a fine book.  Quick read, nothing original, but entertaining enough.

despite the jarring narrator change for the audiobook, this is probably one of my favorites of the series. Lena’s character has really grown on me throughout the series and here she is at her absolute best. the rest of the plot and Jeffrey and Sara’s relationship bored me a bit as usual but Lena and Terri’s slow bond throughout the book really made the book for me.
