The blurb on my library copy, which differs from the goodreads blurb, isn’t well written, and probably undersells it. But nor would you want to oversell this.

As for the book inside, the characterization is good, fun, and true to show (though I think did Aimee disservice of extra dense-ness). The plot is rather weak and exactly what it says on the tin. But it’s a cheery easy read for fans of the show.

I could see what Birchall was trying to do, and while we did see some bonding development between characters, for me the whole thing just... fell flat. Compared to the series, the plot of this novel was lukewarm at best; about as deep as a puddle. But, it passed the time sufficiently.

This book, whilst doing some character bonding and exploring really well, overall fell very flat for me and didn't seem to really do anything and I felt that very little development was actually made. I know that it's only a crossover novel but I think that I had my expectations too high for something that was never going to happen. Not a bad book but didn't do anything for me unfortunately. Loved Maeve as the key focus / narrator though.
