This fantastic new essay collection tackles topics as diverse as time travel, laugh tracks, ABBA, and some sports stuff that went over my head. But that's the great thing about Klosterman as an essayist: even when he's writing on a topic you know nothing about, he'll draw you in, he'll make you care.
It is perhaps also worth noting that this is perhaps the only book Klosterman has ever written that didn't piss me off at some point. I know, right? Perhaps marriage has mellowed him?

Unique comparisons with subjects that may not have ever been compared before. A nice cultural ride, even with how much has evolved since ‘09. I’m a fan and will look for more of Klosterman’s musings.

Curious and frivolous. That describes this book as a whole and how Klosterman tends to write about his topics. I enjoyed the variety and the overall discourse here suggests. Very good afternoon read.

Read this over the course of last week at the beach. Good, not as great as his best Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs and Downtown Owl. The essays about time travel in pop culture and canned sitcom laughter are worth picking this up.
