I had no idea someone can describe where the hotel is for 15 pages, then describe the smell of the hotel for another 15.some people shouldn't write

So the book is basically a critique of the upper class of the French society and carelessness and ignorance that comes with the title that one gets. Eugene, apart from Goriot, could also be considered a main charachter, that kinda ties all of the others together. Critics would tlaay that he is the only one that had a charachter development. However I would argue that even tho he showed his humbleness when he buried Goriot with very little amount of money he had, right after the burial he went to lunch with one of Goriot's ill mannered daughters, that he previously "fell in live with" while he chased some sort of security when he got to Paris from the province. Goriot Himself, so called "Christ of fatherhood" would do anything and everything to excuse his daugters' Gluttony, is ready to kill, steal and "die for their sins". The naturalism in this book is so bloody strong, it almost feels sarcastic and ironic.

Le Père Goriot est une triste histoire qui suit un jeune étudiant et son voisin, le père Goriot. Le père est seule depuis dix ans et pauvre à cause de ses filles qui ne pensent qu'à leur bonheur et qu'à leur fortune. L'étudiant découvre la société parisienne et comment l'argent peut détruire une bonne âme.
