I really liked the premise of this book but wish it had had a bit more substance to it. There was a lot of focus given to the sisters (most likely because they're being set up for the sequels) and I think that distracted from Noah's time on the page. He felt very flat. Amelia was fine, she had a bit more to her, but I was still left wanting a bit more.

My main wish with this book is that we were able to get to know the town itself as a character. This series is about finding romance there and I didn't feel like it really mattered? I'm hoping the sequel will expand on that (though tbh I'm not excited for it to be Annie because she was annoying in this book. The swearing thing? Why.)

All in all this book was fine. There was some nice moments but it was a bit repetitive and felt predictable beyond the comfort of contemporary predictability

Funny banter. Forced proximity romance. Insta-love-connection. Grumpy meets sunshine. I thought the topic discussed in the book were done very well. I hope the other Walker sisters get their own love story (cough, cough, hint, hint, Sarah Adams).

Admittedly, a familiar plot, but likeable characters, humor, and an overall sweetness make this a fun read. World-famous singer, Amelia, (Rae Rose to her fans), has had enough of the demanding career and being told what to do by her manager, and just wants a break before her next world tour. As is her norm, she finds solace in Audrey Hepburn movies and takes it as a sign from Roman Holiday that she should go to Rome. Since driving to Italy is not possible, the map shows her Rome, KY is the most feasible, so she escapes into the night, telling none of her entourage. Her car then breaks down off the highway in the front yard of Noah, just outside of Rome, coincidentally. Good guy that he is, he offers to help, and when it ends up taking 2 weeks for her car to be repaired, they get to know each other, she meets the townspeople and his family, they fall for each other, etc. It seems like impossible obstacles stand in the way of them having any kind of future, plus they both have things to overcome from their pasts. Somewhat predictable but sweet characters and still a fun story.
