Such a good thriller!! The writing was sophisticated and you really got to know the thoughts of Chloe. I really thought I had it all figured out but was shocked by the final revelation of who the killer actually was. That being said, once the true killer was revealed, it did seem very anti-climatic in the way it wrapped up. But I do appreciate that all angles were tackled and resolved in the end.

 The storytelling and describing the author does is phenomenal. She has a way with descriptive language that I don't feel we see too often, and her use of literary devices like similes and anecdotes are so well done. Another thing that drew me in was that I grew up not far from the towns mentioned in the novel, and that gave it a more alluring quality for me personally, making me very intrigued to follow the story. This book gets a 2 because of the ending. I saw it coming from a mile away. I like to be shocked and bamboozled, plot twists are my favorite. I didn't feel that way when I read this. The book was well written, and I was engaged the entire time, never bored. I really enjoyed this, I just felt let down by the ending. I will however definitely read more by this author, I loved her style of writing so much., but ultimately, the ending soured the book for me.

Wow I had such HIGH expectations for this book as it was rated nearly 5 stars on kindle. This plot moved very slow and I think the writer is AMAZING but the placement of some things was difficult to follow with. Such as the flashbacks within immediate moments. I understand this is to show her thought process but it was overdone making it less of a treat and more of a burden. I think this plot is SUPER predictable! Maybe I’ve cracked the code for thrillers. Anyways, the writing was super detailed and beautiful. But a lot of this was just repetitive at times and dense. For me the level of suspense was a 1/5!

This held my attention the entire time. I loved the mindset it put me in as far as thinking about the relatives of serial killers and the trauma that comes from it. So many twists at the end.
