What a great follow up to The War That Saved My Life. I love these characters and their journey. They go through so much but become better humans together.

I enjoyed spending more time with Ada. The ending wrapped things well and provided a satisfying message for the reader; however, this book lacked the emotional impact of the first. There was one event in the middle of the book that had me teary-eyed, but I just wasn't as engaged overall as I was with the first book.

Ada Smith is one of those characters who will stay with me long after I’ve finished a book. The teacher in me will want to share her with students forever. The mama in me will want to guard her story the way Susan did. What a journey. Invincible Ada, indeed.
