Ada has never failed to make me cry and I will continuously root for her. A great follow-up to The War that Saved My Life.

These stories are too sweet. This one had many sad moments but I thought there was a lot of beauty in them as well.

This book is SO GOOD. This series is SO GOOD. I just cannot handle how much I love Ada's story. It took me quite a while to start this, because I didn't believe it could live up to the hype of THE WAR THAT SAVED MY LIFE, but it did! I loved THE WAR I FINALLY WON just as much - or maybe more. Two of my most favorite aspects of this series are a) Ada's voice - it is strong and clear all the way through and I truly experienced this tale though her eyes. And b) as an adult I also understood this story - and Ada - though Susan's perspective and that of the other adults. In fact, every character was distinct and felt real, and I was able emotionally connect to this story on many different levels. And wow was this emotional at times. So many things happen and I definitely sobbed more than I expected. I want to know what happens next to these characters, especially as it ends still during the war. But I also love where the story leaves Ada and Co. and I don't want to bother them again.

I finally got around to reading this sequel, and I loved it. Definitely a must to complete the story.

A lovely sequel that lived up to the first. It kept me reading late into the night, rare for a YA sequel for certain!

I fitting conclusion to the series. If you enjoyed the first one, then you should definitely read this book.

Ada is back, and she doesn’t have to deal with her clubfoot anymore. After having surgery, she is shocked to discover that she is not damaged like her Mam led her to believe. As World War II continues, Susan brings Ada and her brother to live with Lady Thorton and her family. Ada is thrilled to see Maggie, but soon Lord Thorton brings a German girl named Ruth to live with them which creates a lot of tension. Ada and the others wonder who she is, and what it could end up meaning for all of them.

I adored this sequel, but it just wasn’t quite as good as the first. Kimberly Brubaker Bradley’s writing is beautiful, but the middle dragged a bit for me.

Such a good, sad, happy series. Susan is such a wise woman ❤️
