This book was a sweet little read. Nice to switch to a female dragon. Gabe was a fantastic H and Teva managed to be a fierce dragon but lovely human.
This book is a bit sweeter than the others of the series. I liked it because this is the first one where we have a female Drakoni as the heroine and she mates with a human. Their story is a pretty one but nothing really happens. And that's the reason I gave (only) 4 stars. After the wild adventures of Andrea and Liam, it seemed... too smooth. I loved the start though and the construction of their relationship is well build. They are cute but not mushy.
I read the first 4 of this series just trying to get to this one. I finally decided to skip to this one. I really wanted to get to this one because the female is the alien/monster and the male is human. These are hard to find!
However, I'm just not into this world. I've given every book three stars. I don't like the post-apocalyptic setting - starting to think post-apocalyptic is just not for me. And I'm super burned out on mindlink stuff. There's so many series that have this nowadays that I think it's its own trope. Who would want someone able to read their thoughts all the time? Like everytime you scratch your butt, your lover would know? Talk about killing the mood.

Slow but steady!
This did start out slow but the characters and their relationship! So beautiful!! Teva moved me to tears ❤️ loved their story!

It didn’t feel like too much happened in this book other than Gabe “taming” Teva and them finding a way for her to fit into Fort Shreveport. I really like Gabe as a character, but I still thought this book was just okay.
The book felt like it was teasing what was happening back in Fort Dallas with Teva hearing voices telling her to go into the rift, but nothing actually happened with that. I just wish something more happened with the larger story since most of the other books had larger, more action-packed storylines.

Did I skip books in this series to read this one? Yes, yes I did. Do I care no because, this girl wanted to know all about the female dragons and was wonderfully surprised to find cats in here to. Crazy cat lady out.

Gabe and Teva! Finally, a female dragon gets a mate. I like that Gabe has the male dragon yellow eyes and fangs from his blood transfusion in the last book because I was wondering how he would share fires and claim her. I wonder if more humans will do blood transfusions to ward off illness and be more connected to the dragons.
Alright.i tried it because it was the first reversal.
