I’m so bittersweet over this one… I need a sequel! Also, Ashleigh/ Paz and JORDAN getting their own books when?💔

 - CAMP is one of the most adorable books I've ever read. I loved the setting of a camp for queer kids: a place where they could fully be themselves, even if it's only for a few weeks out of the year.
- I loved that this book tackled toxic masculinity within the gay community, showing clearly how internalized homophobia and misogyny can embed themselves out of fear of being punished by cishet people.
- A few times it felt like it was verging on Very Special Episode territory, but it's YA, so there's room there. The one thing I simply could not get my head around was exactly how big was this camp?? There are like 19 cabins but everyone fits under the tarp to roast s'mores in the rain? Lol.

STUNNING! I admit I was a bit hesitant about the premise (specifically the main character changing his personality and looks to get his crush's attention), but it was SO WELL DONE. This book talks so much about being your authentic self, being gay however you want to be gay, and thriving in safe spaces while protecting yourself in more dangerous ones.

There's so much excellent character growth in this book, not only in the main character, but also in the love interest. I was so proud watching them grow <3. Also, the side characters and the camp counselors are entertaining and gently coach the characters to be better, more authentic versions of themselves. Loved this book! Like, 9 out of 5 stars from me :)

If I had a camp like this available to me when I was younger, I would have thrived.

While some people may argue that the characters are annoying and make foolish choices, I find it entirely endearing and accurate to a group of 16 year olds.

I was on the edge of my seat, curious to see how things would turn out.

An exploration of queerness through teenage logic. I love the balance of cheesy and serious, though I do wish
one of the main romantic storylines would have involved trans characters. All three were cis, even if nonconforming in presentation.
That said there were still trans characters and each character was beautifully written with true emotion and nuance.
