Loved everything about it. It’s such an honest informative book. I was very invested in the different client stories. And it’s so easy and well written. Loved it.

Incredibly listenable, what makes Maybe You Should Talk to Someone different is that it is presented mostly through Lori’s relationship with her own therapist – Wendall. In this way it stands out from the traditional use of patient case studies to explore the profession. I loved the insight provided by Lori’s conversations with friends, her patients and Wendall, and the nuance this brought to the book. She does a fantastic job of balancing herself as a practitioner and as a human being, at times deeply affected by the lives of those she sees. Maybe You Should Talk to Someone is warm and funny as well as full of grief and quiet moments of comfort. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Overall this is a great read with a very insightful perspectives. Lori’s stories about her patients and her own therapy experiences were poignant, appropriately paced, and times quite funny as one reflects on their own similar behaviors. I greatly, greatly enjoyed it! Highly recommend for anyone who practices or is in therapy! Or anyone! Please note that as she details some of her clients’ backstories she will discuss their experiences with cancer, death, and abuse.

One of the most moving books I've ever read

About life death, love and the therapists in between.

I would recommend this book to anyone curious about or suspicious about the thereputic process as this very funny and extremely moving memoir gives a fascinating insight from both sides of the couch.

As humans we are all frail but we can be so resistant too. This book shows us how.
