This was Heaven to read as a hardcore Dolly-fan like me. Full of interesting interviews, enocunnters, stories and anecdotes, details and all just DOLLY! Loved it! A must read for any Dolly-fan. <3

Like many other reviews of this book say, this is an enjoyable book if you want to learn more about Parton, her media presence, and her carefully crafted brand. However, as it is a collection of Parton's interviews over the decades, it does become quite repetitive and therefore slightly boring at times. One could read one or two Parton interviews per era and get the gist of things. You do learn a bit about Parton (what, of course, she is willing to reveal), but it is far from a biographical work. I would recommend for true Parton enthusiasts or those that are truly interested in understanding the crafting of a media presence/personal brand that celebrities do quite purposefully.

Dolly is fun and funny and I think 5 interviews would have been plenty. After a few, the stories are repeated and unless you really REALLY love you some Dolly, it feels like a chore to slog through interview after interview to look for the gems.

As a Dolly fan, it was pretty great to be able to read some of her interviews in one space. However, as this is a collection of interviews, everything is very repetitive. All of the interviewers ask the same questions and the same stories are told that it no longer becomes interesting.

It was also a great reminder that no matter how high a pedestal I put her on, Dolly is a human with a lot of flaws, but she’s been telling us that the whole time anyway!
