When Jon and Donovan are called to a case at a haunted mansion where the corpse goes missing, one of Donovan's secrets comes out. He hates anything spooky. On top of working the mystery, Jon runs into a man from his past, his father, and it brings up his painful past. As he learns the story about his childhood from his father, he realizes he's been lied to and confronts his mother's husband. As they work on the mystery and Jon gets to know his father, and along with the support of Donovan and his family, the truth comes out and everything Jon thought about his childhood shifted. A good read with wonderful characters and a perfect mystery. Love this series!

Fun

Despite murder and mayhem, I find this series fun and witty. I really like that we get both Donovan And Jon’s point of view. They are a well matched pair. It was good to see their family drama move in a positive direction. I hope we eat more cases from this pair.

The actual prose and writing is really engaging and fun! I just wish there were more mystery, drama, and explanation of psychics. The first one is especially rare for me, as I usually can't take much too suspense

The crime wasn't explained?

My main issue with the book...was the case wasn't solved? How did the perp do everything he did? I can't get over the book wasn't finished, instead we got a random ending to a subplot I wasn't interested in?

I’ve seen a lot of people saying this was the best one.
I’m not so sure about that. I actually think the previous book was better in some ways. I guess it depends on personal preferences.
While I do like that Donovan got his friend back I’m not sure I’m actually that fond of Garrett...
How ever I did like that he was there for Sho.
