I had a SIGNED COPY of this (from an event hosted by Open Letter Books at the University of Rochester) which I later sold to a used bookshop and then she went and won the Nobel Prize.

A bit of a disappointment! It is written fantastically in typical Tokarczuk fashion and some of the short stories are brilliant and unique and you do get into them. But for me, as a novel it's meandering to say the least and the stories are only connected with the tenuous theme of 'anatomy and travel'. For me, a portion of the stories (some of them are only a paragraph long) are just a collection of ideas. A shame, because I was really looking forward to this book after having read 'Drive'.
