Very fun continuation of the Timebound series. Happy that the premise hasn't become stale after 2 and a half books.
2.5 stars. I liked the first book, enough to give this second in the series a try. But ... I think I was a little burned out on the story even as I started. I had to force myself to finish. All the time travel, changes, jumping around was just confusing (as time travel will be). I finished the book. The ending kind of crept up on me (even as I was looking forward to it) ... it just ended!
I did borrow this from the Kindle lending library for my monthly book for November. That limits my reading to my Kindle itself (not my iphone) which may affect my enjoyment somewhat ...

The Timebound series has continued to impress me with Time's Edge. The last few chapters in Georgia were so intense I couldn't put the book down. I really find Kate as a strong character and that continues in this book. The cliffhanger at the end really left me just wanting more. I think the most enjoyable part for me was we got a closer look at some of the other historians. I think in the third book I hope we get a closer look at Prudence. She seems like such a mystery considering she is a very intricate part to the story. It will be interesting seeing if she is truly the villain she has been made out to be. I think this book also allowed us to get a closer look into just how evil Saul is. The chapters over God's Hollow were so disturbing and terrifying I had to keep reading because I wasn't able to sleep. I think the third book is set up perfectly. I instantly want to know where we are going next with this new timeline where the "fifth column" is ready to defeat Saul once and for all. This has become one of my favorite young adult series and the first book is one of my favorite books about time travelling.
Not as good as the first, but still fantastic. Really enjoying this series.
If I were to rate this one, I would give it 2 stars; however, since I didn't technically read the whole thing, I won't rate it. I was excited to start this one to learn more of Kate and her time travels, but I found it really slow, I had a hard time keeping track of all the time changes, and I had to make myself pick it up and read it. I only made it about 1/4 of the way through.
I just finished the book and now I am trying to think of ways to get me through the time until the next book comes out. The entire book makes a great read but as the book begins to come to its end, it is extremely fast paced and captivating. And then that last chapter... thousands of thoughts went through my head as plot twist after plot twist are revealed.
One of the other things I like about The Chronos Files is how real history is incorporated into the plot: H.H Holmes, the Six Bridges mystery, etc. And the way that the events tie into the plot is remarkable.

I'm really enjoying this series. Even though this one had a bit of a weaker start than the first one, it made up for it with a strong ending that explored some darker parts of American history. The middle got a little too bogged down in YA Romance stuff, but that was about my only complaint. Was all set to tackle the next book, and I see that it's not even out for another month! Luckily there's a novella to hold me over ([b:Time's Mirror|25810884|Time's Mirror (The Chronos Files, #2.5)|Rysa Walker|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1435502500s/25810884.jpg|45666878]), although that obviously won't bridge the gap until the next.
I didn't find this as compelling as the first book. I felt like I was waiting for something to happen the whole time. I still like the characters, and it's not the worst thing I've ever read. So YMMV.
i loved this book! i can't wait until number 3 comes out!
Love this second book in the Time Bound series. Each book gets a little more convoluted with the plot and motivations. It truly is mind bending. Can't wait to read the conclusion!
