“Velenose” talks about Domitille and Nour; two inseparable childhood friends.
Dom is a typical destructive girl who appears to be way too thin and full of insecurities, yet tries to keep up with showy kind of looks meant to capture people’s attention. Her toxic personality manages to let her take control of her friend Nour, who ingenuously adores her.

When properly-raised girls go to bed, their journey begins. The story is about two 15 year old friends comparing themselves to gods each time they go to parties shaped of alcohol and unsafe meetings. Having nothing more than each other, the girls do feel the necessity to fill up the void skulking inside by “living lives to their fullest” - as they define it. They complete each other, yet presenting various emotional fragilities, their lives will go spiraling down the rabbit hole once their souls will get distanced from each other by jealousy, rage and insecurities.

This graphic novel does include the following content such as mature content, strong language, violence and self-harm.

The contrast presented by the colorful designs and the hollow lives of the girls is quite interesting.
The story does really make you think about the mistakes that can be made by simply approaching certain individuals.

Had to read it twice to fully comprehend the story. 4/5
