This beauty and the beast re-telling is interesting. Izzy is our heroine, a woman in dire straits, but who also grew up as kinda famous because of the books her father wrote. Ransom is our hero, a Duke who has isolated himself after his appearance (and other things) changed.
They initially clash over who owns the castle they are at, but eventually they start getting to know each other...and well, you know the story from there.
The twist with the fairy tale books was kinda obvious, but earned nonetheless. A fun, if not remarkable, read.

Ah the typical Tessa Dare formula. It's almost comforting on how predictable this book is. However, both the leads are not my favorite out of all Tessa Dare's character. Nevertheless, I got what I wanted from this book, and for that it's still worthwhile.

I absolutely enjoyed reading this. It was definitely a ride. It had a bit of a slow burn, but when it burned it really burned!
