Incredible. Although nothing can compare to the way the first book in this series transported me, the second was still incredibly engaging. The new characters were interesting and complex, we got more perspective and history on the original characters and the storyline truly made me speed read this one.
A little disappointed with the ending, I feel like there was a setup for a new villain and a new book and it kind of fell flat. But alas, not all endings are happy ones.
4 stars because the time jumps AND the multiple perspectives made it kind of a dizzying read, but in the end it's still top notch.

4.25 stars. Like with all things written by V.E. Schwab this book was very well written. Though I was a bit disappointed. Vicious is one of my all time favourite books and this follow up was a bit of a let down.

 Wow! What an ending. If I am being fully honest, I preferred the first book. The sequel confused me in the beginning a little - more POV's, more seemingly random Storylines and characters - of course all came together in the end and kinda blew my mind. I deducted one star because some parts felt a little long (the pacing felt sometimes a little off) and I didn't fly through the pages as I did in book one. It felt a little bumpy.

2018 notes:

i made a joking status updates about the bad reviews "lying" to me (and then i felt bad and deleted the status). obviously i don't actually think the bad reviews are lying, everyone has their own opinion and that's valid, i just let those reviews put me off and i wish i had gotten to this sooner.

also i don't care as much for victor as everyone else does, so i think it needed the new characters

Idunno, took me a while to finish this.

Was interesting.

Not my favourite.

Honestly felt kind of useless.

Should have left it with just vicious and thats it.
