This was quite a good sports romance. Lance and Mica are friends but both want more but he does not think he is good enough for her as he is a bit of a player never looking for anything serious and she does not do casual and Mica cannot act on her feelings because her family won't approve of her being with someone who is not Mexican. They do end up together and are in love but will they last or will her family get in the way? A really good read I liked getting to know these two and enjoyed their story

***I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review***

I love the Sweetest Thing Series by Sierra Hill! This series always reminds me of the 3:AM Kisses Series by Addison Moore. So if you haven't read that series yet, hop on over there after you read this great book!

This was such a great story and probably my favorite one in the series. Lance and Mica are so cute together. I love how they both try to fight it but totally want to give in to the other. Lance has this player bad boy image, but he definitely is not as bad as some stories have made him out to be. In reality, he fell for Mica the moment he laid his eyes on her. Mica is this sweet girl who wants to get through school with good grades only to find her true love one day.

Lance is slowly dwindling away from everything that has happened in his past. He knows he is all wrong for Mica so even though he gave in to temptations, he pushes her away for her own good. Little does he know, he really needs Mica in more ways than one.

Loved this story and Series! Another great book by Sierra Hill.

I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know this couple. Lance is such a great complex character and Mica is a sweetheart. Loved seeing how they navigated complicated situations and come out on the other side stronger. This is the first book I have read from this series and it won't be the last.

This is my first book from Author Sierra Hill and I wasn’t sure what to expect. I enjoyed Sweet Little Lies!

Love, loss, family, death and redemption are the struggles of Lance and Mica. Lance and Mica were very easy to relate to and there were so many issues the two had to work through. Lance is damaged but puts up a front that no one can see through. Mica has her only issues with her family and who they find good enough for their daughter.

When everything finally comes to the surface, Lance and Mica will have the fight of their lives on their hands.

Sweet Little Lies was a good friends to lovers romance that will have you on the edge of your seat!

This was such a beautiful and heartbreaking book dealing with family problems and never allowing yourself to heal from past mistakes.

Lance had made a mistake in the past and he blamed himself for it fully and for the events that occurred afterwards. Instead of moving forward it seemed like he wanted to be punished and when he allowed Mica to get close he began to self-destruct in order to punish himself further.

Mica was such a great character, but she had her own family issues with her parents wanting her to marry Alberto, a nice Mexican. She worked hard at school and cared about Lance but knew all about his reputation and did not want to be another notch on his bedpost.

There were definitely some scary moments in the book, such as the scene with Mica’s nephew Alvie and I wondered how that would affect Lance. When Lance was going downhill I was definitely worried and there was a huge moment where I was super scared about what was going to happen with him.

I loved that Lance finally began to get the help he needed and heal properly thanks to Coach Parker and his close friends Cade and Carter. The ending had another scary moment in the basketball game and what occurred right after.

It took a long time to get to the end with the ups and downs, but it was definitely an incredible ride and I look forward to more!

Woah!  I think I am head over heels in love with Lance and Mica!  This is a couple with some strength!  Their story begins with their friends getting together, so they meet.  Of course being the player that he is, he was hitting on her.  He had been warned by his friends not to mess with her since she is in their social circle.  They seem to keep ending up having make out sessions every now and then in the year and a half that they have been friends.  Lance does like to party, and he comes with a lot of baggage.  Things that Mica really cannot relate to.  But can she handle dealing with the baggage he comes with?

This story is a great friends to lovers romance.  They have very serious issues that they face as a couple.  There was more than one point where I had to put my Kindle down because I couldn’t read through the tears…. Both happy and sad tears.  I am not going to lie, I did get a bit mad at Lance for a couple things…but that goes with the territory.  I have not read the other stories that came before this one, but I think I may be going back to get to know how these other couples got together.

Sweet Little Lies is the fifth book in Sierra Hill’s The Sweetest Thing series, but it works perfectly fine as a standalone novel. Side characters are clearly those from the prior books, and some of the events that are focused around them clearly tie in to the prior books, but it is not necessary to read the prior books to understand this one. It’s your typical case of a standalone novel in a series of interconnected standalone novels.

I’ll be completely honest and say I was rather surprised by this one. I went in expecting your standard sweet contemporary romance, something fun to pass a bit of time. The typical combination of sweet moments with a bit of steam and drama thrown in for good measure. Sure, it has those things, but it also had something unexpected – a lot of emotional depth. I’m not saying I thought this book would be without emotion, I simply did not expect the emotion to be as heavy as it was.

Our male lead comes with a lot of baggage, and throughout the story we get to watch as he faces down his demons. Our female lead faces a very different kind of issue, one you do not see all that often. I’m not going to give details, as I do not wish to give spoilers, but the two characters and their stories came together so well. It was such a wonderful blend of the secrets and issues, keeping me gripped throughout, curious to see how everything would come together.

I will be honest, though, by saying I wasn’t completely won over by the ending. I think that’s a case of personal preference, as it concluded on a trope I’m growing somewhat bored of reading. It brought the story together well, but I would have liked something different – something unique to go with the wonderful story that developed.

After reading Sweet Little Lies, I’m certainly interested in going back and reading the prior books in the series.
