At first I wanted to give it 3 stars or even 2 but the story took a good turn and the ending was beautiful. And there was several characters that I wish to see again in the next books of these world.

It was great reading a book from Chris Metzen. I was very impressed with his writing style and ability. Although it wasn't the most well written book ever, the story had just the right amount of details without being overly wordy or overdone. The story was heartfelt and I enjoyed that just as much as a story three times the length.

Highlord Tirion Fordring deserves a better writer than Chris Metzen.

While this is hard to get your hands on, I would definitely suggest that people read it. Finding it as an online pdf is most likely the best way to read it.
Written by Chris Metzen who is sadly now not with Blizzard anymore and being his first step in writing a book on his own, he did a very good job of it. Though really it is more like a short story than a book.
It takes place just after Lord of the Clans by Christie Golden.

Following Lord Tirion Fordring and his journey to bring exiled due to his meeting and protecting of Etrigg, an old orc warrior. Tirion plays a large part in Wrath of the Lich King and is a key character within Warcraft lore. Learning more backstory of such an influential character is important as it helps flesh out said character. This short story isn't necessary for Warcraft lore and can easily be skipped however I would definitely recommend reading it.

Chris Metzen avrà anche scritto il 90% del lore di Warcraft, ma nel mentre non ha imparato a caratterizzare convincentemente un personaggio.

Well, it was a book.

I didn't have high hopes going into the classic Warcraft books, because they are just fleshed out stories of events I've seen already play out in the games. While it was nice to spend more time in the games world, it just felt...meh to me. Was it nice to see the names of some of the characters/their ancestors I know and love already? Sure, but I also just see the same cycle of Horde vs. Alliance storylines that we are still having play out in game now, and I can't help but feel it be stale. I dunno it was nice to see
Thrall
for a sec though.
