The book is a short read yet very insightful. The real life incidents shared by the writer might not be relatable to all , but, the life lessons related to those incidents are what makes this book worth the read.

Inspiring words from a commencement speech in 2014. Although the anecdotes are based on the military, I could easily relate these words of encouragement to my everyday life. I connected with them so much I wrote these 10 statements in my journal to remind me that every day should start with a completed task like making my bed.

Pieces of wisdom supported by stories of the admiral's time in boot camp and his professional life. The brevity of each anecdote sometimes fails to convey fhe depth and complexity of the wisdom being presented, at risk of sounding little more than "be tough, never give up." I anticipate that the admiral's subsequent books get better. That being said, I now do make my bed every day and think of this book.

I can’t remember how this book got on my to-read list but I do like these set-improvement books. He has some great analogies on how to be successful in life with a Navy Seal flavor.

Nothing like short stories from a Navy SEAL to put life in perspective...

Excellent book. I loved the short segments with a lesson and a story. I would recommend having a notebook close while reading; there is excellent advice in this book. I will definitely read it again.
