I liked this manga. I've not experience a lot of The Legend of Zelda games, but from the few I have, I knew I was going to like it. I haven't played Ocarina of Time but I've always been intrigued by it. So when I saw the manga at my library, I decided to give it a read to get a bit of a taste before I played the game for myself.

I really like the plot. Definitely gives you old school fantasy vibes which I love. The artwork is gorgeous! I love how detailed each scene is. You really feel like you're in the world of Hyrule. There were a few things I did not like. The misogyny was a little too much for me. I didn't like seeing how "weak" each female character was or how they just threw themselves all over Link. And Zelda was shown to be a capable fighter... until Link was in the picture. Then she became a damsel in distress. It was annoying to read. Another thing I didn't like was have quickly the pace of the story moved. I know they have to capture an entire video game into a single manga volume, but it still felt a little rushed.

Even though I didn't love everything about this manga, I did enjoy the story. I think this is a perfect read for anyone who is a fan of the franchise. Reading this definitely made me want to learn more and experience the games for myself. I truly do think I'm going to enjoy them quite a bit.

Subverting expectations, the Legendary Edition of this cherished story breathes new life into Ocarina of Time. The creators masterfully weave an expanded and compelling narrative, faithfully adapting the original while enriching the lore. A highlight is the expanded exposition on Volvagia and its connection to Link, adding depth to their dynamic.

I've never played a Zelda game in my life (Nintendo is just too damn expensive), but I was drawn to this due to how breathtaking and interesting the new Zelda games look. The art is very much classic manga style, but it was pretty, and the characters are interesting and easy to root for. Link, in particular, is a very likeable hero, and I loved his devotion to Zelda, as well as their developing relationship. I also absolutely loved Sheik and the twists with his character!

The story flows well in the childhood arc but was a bit too quick in the adulthood arc. More explanations and development of the story were sacrificed in the name of fights upon fights. Due to this, I was sometimes confused at how quickly everything was happening while simultaneously tired of the endless action scenes. I was also a bit lost on how the ending worked. Even so, this was a good manga, and I quite enjoyed getting to know Link and Zelda. I might continue reading the others in the series!
