Literally a Hallmark movie (with lots of spice). Not much going on plot wise and it ended exactly as I predicted, but it scratched that cheesy Christmas itch I have. Perfect for a quick holiday read!
4.5/5
The Mistletoe Bet was my second book of Maren Moore's I read and absolutely loved! She is becoming an auto buy author for me!
Our FMC, Quinn, has returned to her small hometown of Strawberry Hollow for the holidays. She isn't happy about this return for two reasons, 1. She hates Christmas, and 2. Spending time with her family.
She spends most of her time working and she has no love life so she’s the Grinch our story. Parker is the sexy doctor and also her brother’s best friend. Parker makes a bet with Quinn that he can make her not so grinchy anymore. As time goes on, Quinn and Parker get closer and have some steamy times together. Parker wants to be with Quinn even if she goes back to New York. Quinn comes to a crossroad where she needs to decide her future. Go back to the busy working life she doesn't love or see where thing go with Parker.
Overall, I loved this novella. It’s short, simple and sweet. It’s pretty heavy on the Hallmark vibes and the relationship moved fast but it’s a quick Christmas read for the season. Recommend for a quick holiday read!

Something went wrong for me between reading the blurb (which intrigued me) and the actual book. I don't really know what it was, but it didn't work. I didn't feel the chemistry between the two main characters and I didn't get the feeling of them pining for each other for so many years. But the settings and Christmas things are cute
“You know what, Quinn?” Parker says, closing the space he just put between us. “I bet you, right here, right now, that if you give me these seven days you’re home, I can make you fall in love with Christmas all over again.”
Maren Moore! Where have you been all my reading life

It was a short holiday novella, and for what it was I thought it was cute. There wasn’t anything special about it for me, and didn’t boost my holiday spirit either.
love this, proper xmas vibes & i’m so glad they got together
Didn’t care for this Christmas Novella but I did like the author and want to try one of her other books. I see she’s a hockey gal
This was a palate cleanser for me after what I’ve read. It’s cute and I need a book on Parker’s pov. Also why I reading a Christmas novella during March
