HELENA HUNTING HAS DONE IT ONCE AGAIN! 💙

If You Love Me is the fourth book in the Toronto Terror series. It follows Roman and Lexi, who are by far my favorite Terror couple!! I’ve been looking forward to Roman’s book since he was introduced in the first book.

Under the rough goalie exterior lies a protective and possessive man with a soft side for his daughter and now Lexi and both her sisters! Roman without a doubt has stolen my heart and I’m excited to say that he is now my favorite male character so far this series!

Roman and Lexi have known each other (where they spent a weekend with one another). Now three years later they are thrown back together during a meeting where she is introduced as the new female assistant coach for the Toronto Terror.

Both of them never forgot all about that night, so when they are back in the same room, you can just sense the tension. Although it takes Roman and Lexi to actually give into their feelings that have been trying to deny it was totally worth it. From the chapters we got from their nights spent together, you can just see the chemistry they both have for one another.

The entirety of the book, I truly enjoyed diving deep into both characters and really seeing life from their perspective compared to what we saw in previous books about Roman.

A little something I noticed when I was in Lexi pov is that Lexi’s sister Ophelia or “Fee” is introduced in Helena’s other book Chase Lovett Wants Me, so that was interesting to see and to actually put two and two together.

Roman, being the sweetheart he is, really is welcoming and loving when he first meets Lexi’s sisters. He is actually so sweet to both of them that I fell in love with him all over again. Having the sisters a part of the storyline really made the story more interesting and I just loved to see it.

As always, I love how she writes and focuses on the two main characters, Lexi and Roman, but she also gives us glimpses of other characters who we have been introduced to previously in the Toronto Series, but other people that she has written in past books. I love to see how previous relationships are developing since we saw them last.

Throughout the entire book I was left wanting more. This particular book was so well written that we had such a great storyline and plot, that I would highly recommend this book to everyone. I just adore Helena Hunting and her writing so much, since she brings us such great books with amazing characters that we fall in love with!

Overall, I highly recommend If You Love Me not only for the plot but because you will definitely fall in love with these wonderful characters and their stories.

I truly cannot wait to see what other couples we get in the Toronto Terror series because I just know that whoever Helena throws together we will love!! 💙💙💙💙 (some are hinted at)

I’m grateful to have this opportunity from Helena for an early arc of this wonderful book in exchange for my honest review.

Hunting has pulled out all the stops in her fourth hockey romance in The Toronto Terror Series, If You Love Me, and just WOW, I couldn’t have listened to it faster even if I’d tried. Not only have Dexter and Bloom’s talented voices infused a real-life depth into their narration but also created a resonant experience, making Hunting’s protagonists’ feelings leap off the pages.

In If You Want Me, I got to know team goalie Roman Hammerstein, his daughter Peggy and Hollis, his best mate’s story, and he's featured in If You Need Me, too. But I was dying to see if this single dad and legendary player would eventually find the one before retiring from the game. Well, he thought he had, but then . . . !

Lexi deserves all the kudos. I thought it was a little out of the norm for her to get the assistant coach’s job on a men’s NHL hockey team, but she’s proven her worth and is determined to make it work while balancing family life.

How could I not fall more for Roman than I already had when Dexter’s swoony pitch portrays him so well? One of many emotional scenes that the listener will delight in is when Roman stands face to face with his new boss. And Bloom doesn’t let Lexi off the hook, either. Both narrators’ subtle nuances and inflections matter.

One of the things I truly like about Hunting’s series storytelling is how she makes sure newbies can go with the flow. You feel like you’re watching Lexi work alongside the players, and seeing The Babe Brigade take her under their wing is a real treat, even for the seasoned reader.

Hunting’s writing has heart, and I can’t thank her enough for including the tropes I like most. Second chance with all of its uncertainties, a big yes! Slow burn tension—she had me eagerly waiting to see what would happen to Roman and Lexi in their forbidden workplace romance, and the age gap, another yes. But what I loved more were both families’ dynamics, them having each other’s backs, the flirtatious banter and their intense connection, which isn’t just in the passionate bedroom scenes.

Partial to an alternating first-person POV narration, Roman and Lexi’s thoughts, doubts, joys and grief enrich a love story I can’t recommend listening to enough. If you haven’t started the series, what are you waiting for?

If You Love Me is the latest in Helena Hunting's Toronto Terror series, featuring a forbidden romance between goalie Roman and new assistant coach, Lexi. Hunting writes a good hockey book, and this one is no exception. While not my favorite in the series, it's a solid spicy, sportsy read with some definite pining and angst. Lexi is new to Toronto - and is now the legal guardian of her two younger sisters. However, she's not new to Roman - they had a weekend together three years ago, after which Lexi disappeared. They dance around each other through most of the season, as the Terror's tight-knit found family embraces Lexi and her family. I recommend this to fans of the series, hockey romances, and loving extended friend/family groups. Thank you to Good Girls PR for the advanced reading copy, receipt of which did not impact my review.

Oh wow. Just wow. Each book in the Terror series gets better than the last. Lexi coming in as an assistant coach after a 3 year prior weekend with Roman was shocking and her past/present had me so emotional. Roman on his last year before retiring while helping Lexi and the new crew (Ryker and Grace) bond and handle him retiring. Lexi is a strong badass hockey coach while also being a sister/mom to her younger two sisters. I loved how the terror family and the badass babe brigade took them in and made them family. Roman and Lexi are perfect together and their fireworks was 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️. I loved the entire story (especially chapter 21!). I can’t wait for more of the Terror family.
