A very satisfying conclusion to a really good series. Two main highlights throughout: the setting and the characters.

The constant stream of different and interesting alien beings and cultures was probably the best of any series I've read. Every single one of them was sympathetic (with the exception of humans - we're consistently horrible). Even the unknowable, unfathomably powerful, galaxiea-conquering Essiel are somehow absolutely adorable.

The characters are just great. Every major character is nicely flawed, and has a really good arc. So many of the characters brilliantly thread the needle through the series of their character's role developing, but their underlying beliefs and attitudes staying consistent. Lots of them end up in fairly unimaginable situations from where they started, but are still clearly the same character. Especially Olli. God bless Olli, she is an absolute treasure and must be protected at all costs.

I did find some of the unspace sections hard to follow, but that also feels somewhat understandable because it's a setting which fundamentally doesn't translate into human dimensions. And overall the plot of the series was fine but nothing special. Perfectly good enough though, and the characters make it all work.

I'm happy to say I've completed the journey.  Great space opera. There was a bit of a drag in the first half and times when I lost the plot a little, but I'm glad I saw it through and have minimal questions about loose ends.

Starts slow, but at about 20% it revs up and absolutely slaps all the way to the end.

Disclaimer: I want to clarify that I experienced this book through the fantastic narration by Sophie Aldred on the audio version.
The story of the Vulture God's crew has reached its satisfying conclusion. I must admit that Tchaikovsky skillfully crafted a fitting, complete, and wholesome ending to this tale.
Throughout the book, we followed the events from the perspective of the expected group of crewmates. I particularly enjoyed the sporadic chapters narrated from Chris's point of view. On the other hand, Olli, with her consistently short temper and tendency to get angry at everything, initially irritated me. However, she ultimately underwent an unexpected transformation.
The Originator Arc reached a fitting conclusion, and although I had a vague idea of how the plot might unfold halfway through the book, I was still impressed by Tchaikovsky's descriptive prowess.
Overall, it was an immensely enjoyable book that I wholeheartedly recommend. Please note that this series leans more towards Sci-Fantasy rather than hardcore Sci-Fi, so approach it accordingly
