I liked this one better than True Believer that comes before. This one had more things happening and it was easier to get into in my opinion.

I found Jeremy to be whiny and petulant in this one. I dunno...he just wasn't that appealing as a protagonist. They both felt a bit like caricatures of people. That said, there were still some nice patented Sparks moments that you'd expect.

Ok, I was really starting to enjoy this book, aside from all the stress Nicholas Sparks made us feel for almost the entire book. First the writers block, them the emails, then all the fighting, then the problem with the baby. Right when I was like, ok, things are going to start going right, he throws us for a hugeeee loop. I cannot believe he killed off Lexie. I mean really?! It was such an unnecessary death! I could have easily imagined the ending where they all live happily ever after but no, he has to devastate us. I do give him that it was a huge twist that I did not see coming. I genuinely almost cried because I felt so bad for Jeremy. Anyways, I guess despite that it was a pretty good book. I always enjoy Nicholas Sparks' books.

Fair warning that this book is a sequel to Nicholas Sparks's True Believer; although not a true sequel, it does follow the same characters, continuing with the same plot line. Maybe you could call this a companion novel? Either way, I definitely enjoyed this book far more that True Believer. In fact, I really enjoyed this book in general. The romance was typical Nicholas Sparks, which I enjoyed, but there was some unpredictable action throughout the novel that kept me reading!
