It is nearly impossible to review this book in-depth without screaming spoiler alert every other sentence - so I will keep it general. I loved it. I tell myself to read Jo Nesbø books slowly, savour the words because waiting for his next book is close to impossible. Did I heed my own advice? Nope. Some folks complain about the "red herrings" - I love them! I think I am so clever, I think I have it figured out and then Jo shows me who is boss (he is!).
I can't count how many times I said "oh crap, no no no" while reading this book. I shed a few tears, elevated my heart-rate to aerobic levels, chuckled to myself and even had the heart fluttering warm fuzzy feeling while reading this.

HIGHLY recommend. love love love.
If you have not read any of his other books - run, do not walk to the book store! There is still time ;)

And yet again it happens. Whenever I think I've found the criminal, Jo Nesbo manages to turn it all upside down. So far the only crime/detective author who never fails to fool me.

Here is my only gripe. Nesbo's writing lacks a bit when it comes to action flow. There were moments when I was left with furrowed eyebrows as I quickly tried to figure out when a idea/sequence ended and the next began. Story is manna. The Characters walked amongst us. Loved it.

Meh. The deliberate twists and turns and masking of information from the reader made this entry feel particularly cynically manipulative. It seems like Nesbo doesn't respect his readership very much....
