I wasn’t sure how Ms. De La Rosa was going to make Mexican characters work in a novel set in England of the Victorian era. But she pulls it off swimmingly and mostly believably. Really had fun reading this adventurous romance and will definitely tune in for the second in the series!

I don’t mind a cheesy rom-com read with a few good love scenes, but this was *too* cheesy… the storyline is overdone and the writing itself was less than captivating. I made it about 1/4 of the way through and had to stop reading, because I just couldn’t take it anymore.

Oh my goodness, I adored Ana María and The Fox! I really loved how Ana María’s character development. She went from living for her parent’s wishes to living for herself and it made me so happy. Gideon was also such a great character. I was kicking my feet and giggling every time they interacted. Something I really appreciated was Ana María’s relationships with her sisters. I loved watching them grow closer. I also loved the historical aspect of this book. The slow burn was also hot and I was screaming at Ana María and Gideon to just kiss already!!!! I can’t wait to read the sisters’ books!
