He's a grump. A big, surly, rough round the edges, flannel wearing grumpy grump. And she's his peppy, sure of herself neighbour that loves to push his buttons to see which ones work.
Des and Axel have been neighbours for two years and she thinks he hates her but he's just been kepping her at arms length cos the thought of letting her in scares the shit out of him because she is everything he wants. They end up on a blind date together and it all escalates v quickly (teacups, anyone?) and I was immediately swept up in their relationship and enjoyed every filthy second. I love attitude on both MCs and the dynamic between them. Her calling him Sunshine and him calling her Princess was just everything.
I really loved the way it was written, very easy to follow and the pace was excellent. This was a very sexy read but also sweet and romantic too. The autumn background gave it such warm and cosy vibes and the mouth on this lumberjack was

I needed a quick lighthearted read and wanted something with fall vibes. This was exactly what I was looking for.
I loved the atmospheric setting of the equinox festival, because who doesn’t love a good harvest festival?!
I enjoyed the grumpy/sunshine romance with lots and lots of spicy scenes and loved the happy ending.
A great, short, lighthearted smutty read to get you in the mood for fall!

I think this might be the perfect short story. Despite the page constraints I believe in the character development that takes place, I believe in the connection between the main characters. Obviously the story is mouth wateringly hot, but it’s also just super well written. I was pleasantly surprised. This was also the perfect read for the first day with temps below 60.
