Meh. Gorgeous pictures, but Oprah’s handwriting is hard to read and the little notes were distracting. Weight Watchers points would make more sense to someone on the program. Recipes were more complicated than I would often choose.

My one word review is "Meh".

This is a book by Oprah - that's its selling point. The recipes are good enough, but not exciting. The pictures are pretty, but not oh my gosh I am drooling. There are little stories with each section, but if you have ever watched the syndicated Oprah Show, you have heard most of them there. Each recipe does connect with the Weight Watchers point system.

All in all, it's a regular cookbook. So. Meh.

Oprah Winfrey has battled her weight for many years. Now she has embarked upon a lifestyle change inspired by Weight Watchers. There are some nice recipes in this book - full of fresh, colourful ingredients and plenty of tips for swapping out those calorie expensive elements. Definitely some keepers here. Her personal insights into her food journey are certainly inspiring.

A gorgeous cookbook that also serves as a memoir for Oprah. I loved reading about her life and food choices throughout the years. I won't make a single one of these recipes (too complicated), but I loved looking at the pictures of the food!

There were quite a few recipes in the book that I would love to try. My mom and I used to make Rosie's unfried chicken (now it's Art's she loves). We went to Lyfe restaurant quite a few times and had Art's unfried chicken and it was delicious.
I'm excited to try the early garlic soup since I have about 40 heads of garlic growing in my garden this year.
I also love how much she loves truffles! I adore truffle oil and need to invest in a good truffle salt. While pricey you use little and it really pumps up your food.

The coherence and theme of this cookbook was so well done. I loved the personal information throughout and how Oprah used GOOD, healthy food to turn around her diet. I think that many of us want to be better in this area, so it was nice to see a cookbook that looked to great recipes about healthy eating, not just losing weight. In the end, we want to feel better every day, not just look better.

I mean, the vignettes about Oprah's life were interesting and relatable. Some of the recipes sound amazing and relatively easy, while others don't seem that accessible. I do like the nutrition info given for each recipe.

Didn't really read thoroughly for the recipes. But enjoyed reading her writing at the beginning of each chapter.
