I loved this slim and odd little book. You could call it a pandemic novel, but I don’t think that’s quite it. If I had to nail it down, I would say that it’s a novel about what it means to be vulnerable and what it means to connect with other beings, be it human or parrot. It’s a lot of different things and different times…witty, warm, biting and surprisingly humorous. I also loved that this is a “writer’s novel” and she alludes to so many great authors and their works. I loved that part. I loved the audio and would recommend it in that format.
