I super enjoyed this book and I think I need the next one pronto. THIS is the kind of fairy tale retelling I thoroughly enjoy and I love it.

Wow. This book had so many depressing plot twists. Like, seriously. Some really sad stuff goes down in this one man. As in, they straight-up traumatise characters, but like, realistically. It's the most painful thing ever.

It's also at this point that I really started realising that the plot of this series is amazing. There's some actual talent in the whole way this thing is being played out.

Kyle's books are always full of good humor and crazy situations, and this one is no exception, though this one took a slightly darker turn
Spoiler when it ventured into a dark future.
Overall, it's a good addition to the universe, and I'm looking forward to seeing more stories. Crispin has become an especially interesting character, and Kyle is quickly getting on my "I'll read pretty much anything they write" list.

thoughts, in no particular order:

-Cinderella. But Prince Charming is actually a cool guy who has an unhealthy obsession with weapons, Ella is awesome (but not too fond of fighting) and the fairy godmother is Terrifying. Plus more twists and a dash of Alice in Wonderland thrown in too.

-The foreshadowing. The plot twists. THE PLOT TWISTS. Help.

-it's hilarious! so many quotable lines!

-I read the Janus Elixir before reading this (oops) so it was really cool to see a certain character with a *cough* melodious name show up. :)

-Nick and Cordelia

You thought you knew fairytales?

You're wrong. Because when Shultz is done with a fairytale, he makes you reexamine everything you thought you knew about it.

Stroke of Eleven is definitely the craziest, wackiest, most emotion-ridden roller coaster ride yet in the amusement park they call the Beaumont and Beasley series. Argh. It had ALL the FEELS, people, all the feels. I'm not saying much more than that... but gee whiz, this book is good. Actually, all the books in this series are real darn good. Now excuse me while I go hyperventilate-- uh, I mean, wait for the next ones.

Delightful

What a blend of stories and adventures and timey things. And of course I love more Nick and Cordelia and their shenanigans. Can’t wait to read the next stories!

What a romp.

As the third installment in this series, this book did not disappoint. Full of snark, adventure, wild imagination, and clever plot twists, it also had some remarkably genuine moments that seemed to pop out of the book and grab hold of my heart in a way I will not soon forget.

I appreciated how multiple threads from the series were addressed, although not all were answered. And I particularly liked the ending, because I have been waiting, WAITING for this thing to happen.

From this point, Shultz can basically expand in any and every direction and will probably take over the world. You have been warned. Love this author. Love his work.
