Such a good modern haunted house story! My only issue was the middle of the book dragging on a bit and repeating itself. It took a while for the story to pick up again and the last third was great.

A brilliant allegory about the female experience and one hell of a horror story (which the female experience often is). The final twist is so wonderfully satisfying, I had to set the book down to applaud. Kudos to author Carissa Orlando.

A lot to unpack here. I liked the ambition, but I think the author tackled some big ideas (mental health, domestic violence) without sensitivity or any kind of subtlety. Horror can be beautiful for the metaphors and nuance. This literally hit you over the head with it.
