I appreciated Esmay’s self-sacrifice and courage and Vaath’s steadfastness in the pursuit of the traitors to the empire. Their work together and the relationship they built was also lovely and the intimate interactions were also high heat.
The story was dual POV, well written and edited, and a great read, introducing several characters whose stories I would like to read. I received a complimentary copy from the author but this is my honest review.
