The Head: ⭐⭐⭐ Going to the bathroom will never be the same again. No longer will I fear snakes coming out of my toilet by bodiless toilet paper heads instead.
The Embodiment: ⭐⭐⭐ If I didn't have an irrational fear of pregnancy before, I sure as hell do now.
Cursed Bunny: ⭐⭐⭐⭐"Cursing others leads to two graves." A cursed bunny lamp wreaks havoc for one unlucky family. This story makes me weary of being gifted something adorable and demonic.
The Frozen Finger ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The way I felt blind reading this was terrifying. Probably the scariest story even though I have no idea what was happening.
Snare ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Greed. Glutton. Gold. The man in this story got off too easy considering what he did to that fox.
Goodbye, My Love ⭐⭐⭐ This is the reason I don't upgrade my phone every year. I swear if I got an 'Artificial Companion' I'd keep it forever.
Scars ⭐⭐ This one was the longest story and by far the hardest for me to understand. I felt sad through the whole thing and was left with no idea what was actually happening at the end.
Home Sweet Home ⭐⭐ Someone call the SCP foundation because I'm pretty sure this building is an anomaly.
Ruler of the Winds and Sands ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ Kind of felt like Howl's Moving Castle but a ship in the sky version.
Reunion ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A reunion and a fitting end. Never going to sit at an outdoor café and not think of this story.

Strictly reading this at work because you can't be scared under fluorescent lighting...right?

Honestly, reading Cursed Bunny was a wild ride. Some stories had me feeling genuinely creeped out, while others left me feeling a bit disturbed, in that "wow, this is hitting too close to home" kind of way. There were moments where i had to pause and think about what i had just read because the layers of meaning were so unexpected.
At times, i felt a deep sense of discomfort, not from gore or violence (though there is some), but from the psychological and emotional weight of the stories. Bora Chung has this way of showing us the ugliness of human nature in such an offbeat way that it leaves you feeling unsettled, yet intrigued. It’s the kind of book where you don’t always know how to feel, but that’s what makes it so compelling.
By the end of the book, i felt a strange combination of awe, discomfort, and fascination. It’s not a collection you can just shake off, it lingers in your mind, making you rethink certain stories days after finishing them.
If you’re looking for a collection that’s equal parts bizarre, thought-provoking, and unforgettable, Cursed Bunny needs to be on your list. It’s an emotional, psychological rollercoaster that will leave you questioning everything, and you’ll love every minute of it.

I've tried really hard to enjoy Japanese and Korean books in translation, but I find they always feel... flat, somehow. Horror is so particularly cultural that I suspect it just doesn't hit the same way across borders, and I really struggled to make sense of some of the stories in this collection.

This was a great set of bizarre, sometimes borderline offensive, weird horror stories. There was something missing that I cannot put my finger in, but overall quite fun.
Cursed bunny and the head were good, the rest bored me and I couldn’t hold my attention. The stories were more odd/surreal than a scary horror. Dnfing after reading 5 of the stories
