This short story collection lacks cohesion, and the selection appears random and without much thought. When reading a short story collection, I want to understand the significance of having these stories compiled together in this particular order. I found this difficult to grasp and, for the most part, considered most stories mediocre, with a few that did not engage my interest at all.
The collection begins with two intentionally grotesque stories about bodily functions, which one might expect to set the tone for the entire collection. However, the subsequent stories diverge significantly in style and subject matter. That being said, I actually liked these opening stories and appreciated their bravery and unapologetic provocation.
Soon after, the collection transitions into a series of ghost stories, some of which were quite compelling, including the titular "Cursed Bunny," which was notably disturbing. However, other ghost stories, such as "Frozen Finger" and "Home Sweet Home," were far less interesting.
However, the most challenging aspect of the collection was the folktales. "Snare" stood out as the best among these, but the folktales became increasingly lengthy and less impactful compared to the other works in the collection. While I understand that the common thread among these texts is their classification as speculative fiction, I do not perceive a greater narrative here.
Overall, the collection is not terrible, but I found it challenging to motivate myself to continue reading.

Lots of body horror and familial trauma in this one! I think, overall, I may have enjoyed Your Utopia more in regards to the individual stories but I think this collection felt more cohesive.

Life is a series of problems
First half + last story = fantastic
Second half - lost in the sauce
My life was making me anxious. I wanted to escape from it for just a little while at least
Relatable

i’m so disappointed, the stories were extremely weird but extremely simple? for the first story it was kinda fun, but it quickly became boring. i understood the meaning behind each story but they were all executed poorly in my opinion </3 the writing was seriously not for me
