I thought I was going to hate this book.. But no.. It felt like light fuzzy read with typical british dysfunctional family.. I enjoyed Dora's character and narrative best.. I won't say it can be no 1 best seller but it is really funny page turner..

Didn’t enjoy the writing style and couldn’t get into the flow of the book, wasn’t much plot

Throughout this book was more of a feeling good, 3 star read, but the way the ending is wrapped up pumped this up to a 4.

Instead of a coming of age, it was more of a coming to turns with ones life and the dynamics of family life.

I loved the way Dawn French portrayed the husband, it worked so well. Really enjoyed they way every character had a very different dialogue.

I read it, but was very disappointed.

Oscar/Peter was the only redeeming feature. The other characters were far too aggressive for my tastes.

Absolutely brilliant book. This is the first one of Dawn French's books I've read and I'm so glad I started.

Having watched Dawn French in many programmes I had high hopes for a humourous novel and she does not disappoint, but it is so much more.

There are so many funny moments and relatable situations in this book including some hard hitting situations too which are really well written.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can't wait to read another by Dawn French.

I think that this story definitely benefited from Dawn French’s sense of humour and the quirky character lineup. It is an interesting reflection on the dramas and pitfalls of different age milestones and family ties, and I was captivated by the listening. The three stars is more for personal taste as some of the characters decisions made me uncomfortable to read, but that really is the point of a good book, to see new perspectives and get a bit uncomfortable being a passenger watching the characters lives unfold mistakes and all.
