Prepare yourself for an intense and crazy read! Julie is a person with a routine and very strong beliefs, especially about her 'boyfriends" and she will go to extremes for them. The problem is that her 'boyfriends' don't know that they are in a relationship and Julie does not take kindly to their actual partners. The story was well written and kept me reading even as I could not believe what I was reading. Julie was delightfully unlikable and being privy to her thought process was equal parts disturbing and fascinating. If you are looking for a different story about love gone wrong give this book a try.

I'm choosing to think this book is satirical so I can give this a "higher" rating. Otherwise, this does not work for me at all, coming from someone who loves to read about unhinged, murderous women. This book is like what if Joe Goldberg was an older woman and lived in the UK. Not a bad idea, necessarily, but the execution did not deliver. I think it was intentionally supposed to be cringey but it was still really difficult to get through. The absolute horror and secondhand embarrassment at some of the things Julie does was off the charts. I think what's difficult about these "You" kind of books is the main character doesn't really go on any kind of a journey, they just are who they are for x amount of pages and I think the attempt to make such a book humorous on top of everything else detracts from the story overall. I also think once you know a little of Julie's backstory it just kind of bums you out. I know this was a debut novel and I think the author would be very successful writing books with humor, it just didn't work for me in this case but I know other people thought this was hilarious so I think I'm in the minority with my opinion. If anything I said sparks your interest, try your luck and read it, it just didn't work for me. Maybe my outlook is a little more sour because I had an ex that acted like Julie and frankly, it was terrifying.

Julie Tudor is most definitely a psychopath!! 😅
As a connoisseur of dark humor, I did find myself chuckling at times. Yet while the FMC is definitely unhinged, she’s almost over the top unhinged and delusional. We seem to miss (or maybe I just did) the big why - what made her this way? 🤔 For those who enjoy dark humor, you just might want to check this one out!

Julie Tudor is 49 and has it all: a fantastic job (well-maintained spreadsheets are the lynchpin of an efficient office), a beautiful house (some may wonder how she got the money for it, but nothing has been proved) and the man of her dreams. Sean is 25 and the love of Julie's life. The only problem is, he thinks he's in love with someone else. But Julie has found herself in a similar situation before and if there's one thing Julie knows, it's how to get rid of the competition... After all, what's a little murder in the name of true love?
To say that Julie Tudor is quite a unique character is definitely one way of putting it! Told from Julie’s perspective the whole way through I have to say it was an interesting journey, one that I found myself a little bit worried about how delusional one person could be!
Of course the whole premise of the book is based around the ‘oddities’ of Julie’s character traits, the single person narration really building up a world where the reader can truly understand the bubble in which she exists. The way the author describes others reactions, taunts and jibes, with Julie seemingly oblivious to it all, is a powerful hook, I had to know what could possibly come next, sometimes in disbelief that anyone could be so naive and somewhat clueless, all whilst being completely determined throughout.
This is a fast paced read, packed full of dark humour, giving an insight into a slightly disturbing world, with a character who has a warped grasp on reality. Honestly, it sounds crazy but you won’t be able to put this one down!
