I’m still new to this app, so my rating my be a bit messed up haha. I rate this story 5/5 stars.

If you’re more into world building, maybe this isn’t the story for you. There’s not much world building happening, and more so focused on the plot and characters. If you’re craving for some Enemies to lovers however, this is your book.

I read this book in just a few days, and it managed to get me out of my reading slump. I was honestly sad when I finished, I want the story to just go on forever. A great standalone, i definitely recommend.

Although this was an enjoyable and fast paced read, I really wanted to adore this book with the pretty cover and interesting plot but I feel that it fell a bit flat for me and is more catered to teen fiction than young adult. I found it quite difficult to get in to and it wasn’t until around chapter 15 that I found myself wanting to read more as the pace and plot definitely picked up speed. Although the plot twists and scenes are really interesting and really loved how the plot went.

For me, it felt a bit underwhelming as I felt like the characters was a little underdeveloped and I feel like their personalities came through but we only saw the surface of them not the in depth that I’ve read in other books. I’d like to know more about the surrounding kingdoms and the diavolos sea about the way they worked, the myths and truths.

I love Lira and Elian’s witty relationship dynamic, true enemy to lovers, both royals and wanting to do the best for their people and really enjoyed their interactions. We meet Lira a siren Princess, a strong female character with sharp wit and defiance and Elian a siren killer, a charming royal trying to find his place and protect the human world, whilst still showing his humanity to those close. I loved a lot of the side characters of Elian’s Crew and would of loved more of an exploration as I felt they were getting muddled and lost on who is who.

Overall a good and easy read but I needed more details about the way the world worked. And I still enjoyed it after chapter 15 I read the rest all in one day.

This is one of my favourite books. I've seen lots of negative reviews on this book, so I didn't have high expectations when starting, but it was amazing. It didn't take me that long to read, and is quite fast-paced.
