I decided to try to figure out why I loved these so much as a young girl. I read this last weekend and now I remember! Great fun. Yes, the Nancy Drew books are dated but I think they are still pretty neat.

This one's a pretty good adventure and Nancy solves the mystery before the end! I wonder if ned is going to become a regular.

It must have been a glitch in the matrix when I thought Ned had already made an appearance in book 5, but at least he is a solid character now and was invaluable in solving this case. It is amazing how big of a heart Nancy has and how many people she finds ways to help. I am not so sure similar things could happen in quite the same nowadays. This case was especially diabolical with so many bits and pieces all affecting the same innocent victim and his family, and I am glad Nancy figured it out. I also like how she is collecting a small memento from each case. That would be such a fun museum if it could be created.

Another typical Nancy Drew mystery, which of course I enjoyed. We learn more about Nancy's awesomeness (apparently she is somewhat acquainted with Swedish), and she meets Ned Nickerson! Nancy, Bess and George help another family less fortunate than themselves, and the day is saved. Phew!

Sweet and enjoyable. These books were ahead of their time in providing smart, capable, independent heroines for us when we were girls.

Not my favorite, that could also be because I'm in a slight reading slump. We are finally introduced to Ned though.

I think I'm going to take a small break my Nancy Drew and read some other things then come back and finish.
