My daughter brought this home as part of her Accelerated Reader program. This is the story of how the sun came to be in the sky. The tale was told very well. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

A great book containing one of the world's many legends about ravens. I would definitely use this for storytime at the library.

I read this book to my students because I want them to learn about different traditions and cultures than their own. This book lead to some great discussions.
"Raven, the trickster, wants to give people the gift of light. But can he find out where Sky Chief keeps it? And if he does, will he be able to escape without being discovered? His dream seems impossible, but if anyone can find a way to bring light to the world, wise and clever Raven can!"

A Caldecott Honor Winning storybook. It's a northwest folktale starring Raven. Due mostly to [a:Charles de Lint|8185168|Charles de Lint|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1400347166p2/8185168.jpg], I'm primed to be a sucker for a Raven tale. And this is a pretty good one that I was not familiar with. The art is both moody and subtle as well as garish. And the text is just about right.
