I never read the older Archie comics, but I enjoyed this a lot. I am all aboard the #HotArchie train (Google it).

I totally loved this. It taps into high school nostalgia but still feels relatively current.

Archie's Reboot done right!

I'm a big fan of Archie comics. I was brought up on them and at one time had dozens of Double Digests. I'm usually quite picky with reboots but this is one I approve of. It stays true to the original characters, their personalities, and their back stories. It's cutely updated for modern times. I also love the art! An enjoyable read for anyone who likes Archie--and even those who've never read the older comics!

Well this was a dud. First of all, Archie constantly breaks the fourth wall. I didn’t mind it in the beginning to sort of establish the readers. I think it’s kind of Mark Waid’s style, so I don’t mind it. However there was constant wall breaking from Archie in the middle of the story:

“Archie: In the meantime, if you have any suggestions about how to get over Betty, I’m @Archiecomics #LipstickIncident”

It felt like he was more of a narrator than an actual character in the story. It didn’t help that a lot of time is spent with characters who aren’t Archie or the established characters. There’s a lot of people trying to get Archie and Betty back together. Jughead is kind of in that group but it’s a bunch of new characters who’s names I don’t think are even given.

It’s also super unrealistic. Archie has never been realistic but this is just…ridiculous. These three random kids are really invested in getting Archie and Betty back together because…they ship them? That’s not how people act. Yes, teenagers have ships but they’re between fictional characters or maybe celebrities. Not other students. Other students don’t give couples ship names like “Bettchie”. They don’t give a shit.

This was just a bad comic. I couldn’t get invested in the characters because I either didn’t know who they were or they were lol-so-random-meta characters. Will not be continuing. Glad I didn’t spend money on this.

Childhood relived. America's favorite boyfriend is back with his gang and all with a new look. Archie looks dashingly handsome but is the same clumsy charming teenager who'd literally break a limb to impress a girl. Adorable. Even after having read almost all of the classic Archie issues , this rebooted version still definitely caught my fancy. The artwork by Fiona Staples is absolutely fresh, crisp and beyond amazing. I'm hooked. Keep 'em coming.

I'm a sucker for Archie, in any shape or form. Fiona Staples' art gives us the most modern, realistic version of Archie and the gang yet. The story was good, nothing fantastic, but I like the alternate history (Archie and Betty being a couple since they were 5) and the fact that Veronica has yet to be introduced. The Twitter/hashtag line at the end was weird - I get it, you want to appeal to a new generation, but that info would have been better in a caption box.
