There were a lot more short stories in here and I liked how at the end how Andy Runton came up with Owly. While also showing early Owly stories and it's because in one of Andy Runtons stories with his earlier Owly stories it shows that Owly gets mad and in all of the Owly stories I have read so far I don't think I have read any where Owly gets angry.

I like the longer storylines better, but I really enjoyed all of these little snippets of Owly and friends. I seriously want prints for my house.

A sweet compilation of short Owly stories; my favourite was 'Missin' You'. It was also interesting to read a little more about Andy Runton's development of Owly from beginning sketches through to the happy, friendly, lovable little owl we know today.

I found this by happenstance at our local library, and I fell in love. What a kind creature Owly is. I can't wait to read more!

Andy Runton, Owly: Tiny Tales (Top Shelf, 2008)

Owly is one of the great, mostly unheralded, treasures of graphic novel-dom this decade, and Runton's fifth Owly book is just as enchanting as those that came before it. Tiny Tales collects a number of short, previously uncollected Owly stories from various publications, ranging from one-page quickies to the novella-length “Splashin' Around” and “Helping Hands”. Runton also includes a short section in the back of the book on the evolution of Owly, which is precious (and I mean that in the best of ways). While I appreciate (and, in fact, dearly love) gritty, realistic graphic novelists like Brian Azzarello, Garth Ennis, Brian K. Vaughan, etc., I am equally wowed by the bucolic, escapist wonder that is Owly. If you haven't yet found your way into his world, I suggest you do so at your earliest opportunity. ****
