I loved this book. I don't usually read many biographies or religious books, but I'm so glad I finally got around to reading this one. I have really come to love President Nelson since he became prophet (he was under my radar before and took me by surprise), and this book made me love him even more. I knew he was a heart surgeon, but didn't understand just how pivotal and famous he was in that field so that was very interesting to read. And Dantzel - that woman was a rock star taking care of 10 kids mostly on her own. I loved learning more about her and wish I could be more like her. And Wendy seems awesome as well. I liked the way Sheri Dew wrote it - it's not typical biography format but was so much more entertaining. I could spend so much time pointing out all the parts I loved, but I say just read it! I fully intend to read it again with my husband when he listens to it on our next road trip!
I felt inspired to read this after President Nelson's BYU devotional last week. His combination of confidence, humility, compassion, vulnerability, precision, and firmness really impressed me. This is a feel-good book, but it also managed to inspire me in profound ways, because he is an amazing person.
I didn’t want this book to end. Each story and insight was a treasure to read. I am amazed by how God works in the lives of humans to bring forward His great work. I love President Nelson and am so glad I got to learn more about his kindness and tenderness and love by reading this. I recommend it to everyone.
It was fascinating to learn more about our prophet; a man I didn’t really know much about. I am in awe of what an exemplary man he is, and have felt inspired to try harder to be better myself. Sherri Dew did a wonderful job, and through her writing, I was able to feel the Holy Ghost confirm repeatedly the truth of the words she wrote.
