A quick, fun collection of essays filled with Kaling’s humor and candor. A great weekend listen.

Just as good, if not even better, than her last book. Witty and relatable!

I read this on a Monday afternoon while I got some work done (and snuck in a little puzzle construction). Mindy might be one of my favorite people to consume media from. She's silly and girly and says the things most of us are thinking. Her characters aren't direct reflections of her personality, but they definitely have her essence to them. (Anyway... I'm rambling about my crush on Mindy).

This book was a fun, quick overview of Mindy's life as an actor and producer of her own show, with added tidbits about her personal life and maybe an alternate universe where she's a Latin teacher who falls for the US History teacher (?). I don't care much about what it's like to be a glamorous celebrity, so those chapters were my least favorite. I don't find much interest in hearing about juice cleanses and spending hours being glammed up for a crappy afterparty. But, her short fling with the White House staffer had me swooning a bit... And her friendship with B.J. Novak makes me smile.

Enjoyed myself.

Laugh out loud funny, and at times a bit irreverent. Every bit as good as her first book (which is to say far better than Tina Fey's and Amy Poehler's attempts).

Perfect beach read for the days I spent on the Cape this summer! Mindy Kaling's writing is conversational and funny. I find her to be very relatable.

Listen to the audio book. Such a huge step up from her last book which I really liked. So good.
